Name: Michael Cage
Position: Power Forward
Number: 44
DOB: January 28, 1962
Drafted: First Round, 14th overall
Age when drafted: 22
College: San Diego State
Hometown: West Memphis, Arkansas
Height: 6'9
Weight: 224 lbs
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS: One of the better rebounders in the league; led the league in rebounding in '88 at 13.03 per game, which at the time made him just the 4th power forward in history to accomplish that feat. Good defender as a power forward who occasionally played center. Hard worker who kept himself in great shape. Durable. Decent hands that enabled him to average about a steal per game.
WEAKNESSES: Limited offensive game consisting of putbacks and dunks. His talents as a rebounder did not translate into being a proficient shotblocker, as he averaged only 0.6 per game for his career. Limited ballhandler and perimeter defender. Out-sized on most nights when he was forced to play center.
SIGNIFICANT INFO: 1 time NBA rebounding champion; beat out Charles Oakley for rebounding title by grabbing 30 on the final day of the '88 season. The all time leading rebounder and second leading scorer in San Diego State history. Nicknamed the "Windexman"for his rebounding ability and hard work on defense. '84 NCAA 2nd team All American.
