Name: Charles Barkley
Position: Power Forward
Number: 34
DOB: February 20, 1963
Drafted: First Round, 5thOverall
Age when drafted: 21
College: Auburn
Hometown: Leeds, Alabama
Height: 6'6”
Weight: 252 lbs
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS: Charles Barkley is as wide as he is tall, yet is a very good athlete with great hops, strength and Speed for his size. He is a great rebounder, especially offensively (career 4orpg), has good hands leading to a lot of steals and before the end of his career averaged over a block per game. He is a solid FT shooter for a big (career .735) who really gets to the line (career 8.1FTA), is an underated defender and solid passer (3.9apg). Where he really excels is in the paint where he uses his strength and a variety of low post moves to score (career 22.1ppg on .541FG%). He has a solid 15 foot and in jumper.
WEAKNESSES: Due to his style of play, Barkley is prone to injuries especially as he aged. He is not a great 3pt shooter, although he does take them (career .266 on 1.9attempts per game). He has major problems with turnovers (Career 3.1 turnovers per game) and can get in foul trouble at times. Some question how close to 6’6” he really is.
SIGNIFICANT INFO: Nicknames: Sir Charles, The Chuckster, Round Mound of Rebound, 11 Time All Star (1 time ASG MVP), 1992-1993 NBA MVP, All Rookie First Team, 5 Time All NBA First Team, 5 Time All NBA Third Team, 1 Time All NBA Third Team. 6th All Time in Offensive Rebounding (19th total rebounding), 25th All Time in Steals, 10th All Time in PER. Hillarious Basketball Analysis.
