I actually sent Dave a congratulatory IM after seeing the trade...I like Spivey as much as the next guy, but London gave up a ton for yet another young big man who rebounds, defends and doesn't score. The game says that London's talent level drops from great to good, and I agree...advantage Lakers.

The game says that London's talent level drops from great to good, and I agree...advantage Lakers. I almost completely agree with these statements. Cept, I don't feel like I gave up a ton and this is looking at it a little bit through the "now-glasses". My thinking about this is that Hank is 30, Voisin turns 31 this sim, Palmer is roughly 28 (and not that good). I'll miss Hank this season. Voisin is replaceable but since Spivey is 25 I'll be reaping the benefits of this trade for many seasons to come. This was a deal for future value where I got much stronger longterm but had to give up some "status" this year. I go from a Top 5-6 team (by some accounts) to still a likely playoff team. It's not like this is my last deal of the year. I have two other players who I'd consider dealing right now who'd have a lot of value to the right teams. I'm just installing my system here in London

Oh, and the game took my talent from "Great" to "Good" after the Max Z trade too.
After a few games (I guess?) it went back up to Great (so then it could be lowered to Good again - according to Plossl).

I'd guess it was all based on the difference between our scouts...my scout never saw you drop after the first trade...this time he thinks you are a rube.

And Ronzone is good. I like him. But Presti has my ear and at 1 mil he better be feeding me good info! As I mentioned, I don't think this will be the last time you'll see me on these Trade Comments board over the next few weeks. I'll be ready to go by the deadline. You just need to be hot at the right time So.. Bianci...

You, not so much...

Yeah but he has Moir. He wanted Hank and Voisin.
I still don't quite understand your fascination with JPV.

This deal makes sense for both teams but I'd give a slight advantage to LA. I like Spivey and I wanted him in the draft, and a frontcourt of Spivey/Monk/Boozer is not only imposing now but still young. However, London gave up three rotation players to get Spivey and 3 guys who have played a combined 7 minutes this season.

With defense on the backburner this season for most teams, JPV-type guards are instant offense off the bench...by the way, after this trade, you might be the only team in the league now with worse inside offense than mine.

Yeah maybe, but no one has a front court like me. (And it seems to me that the great defensive teams are controlling the league right now)

(And it seems to me that the great defensive teams are controlling the league right now) Great defense is a relative term...Tel Aviv has 2nd best record in league and their defensive style is just to outscore the other guys...no one outside of maybe Chicago has good defense on the 2nd team, and that's where guys like JPV can fill the stat sheet in 10-15 minute spurts. That's why I like him.

Oh, you can like him all you want. He was just a bit old to stick around longterm here. I'd have kept him but if it was between him and McMahon I'd rather keep McMahon because he is a game manager.
I was just saying the defensively stout teams (er, the teams allowing the fewest PPG) are also the teams with the most wins.
The highest scoring teams have fewer teams in amongst the best records.

Looks to me like Dave didn't like me saying I was gonna blow him out this season. I think he's trying to bring it.. Do I smell a rivalry?!
As for the trade as a whole, I think LA wins talent wise right now, but its obvious that London wins in terms of age and position. You can never underestimate a good young big. Pretty even with a slight edge going to Los Angeles in terms of talent now.

This is a deal just to bring in some scoring. I loved Spivey but most of my losses this year have been from sad sad scoring performances. While I like defense, I think major offense will be the early adopted teams. I mean looking at Potential FAs and assuming that you will need a top 6 pick to get "Major" talent in the draft, I'd rather set up for now. Best case is that I still have my pick this season to either move for more talent or if this blows up in my face I have all this talent and a good pick. CSKA-We had this deal almost finalized before you're absurd comment. Rivalry means you actually have to beat me once and a while

Id give the edge to London personally just really like what Spivey can bring in the long term. Might have to head down to the 02 to catch a few games with Boozer and Spivey locking down the paint. But Hank is pretty solid right now so its not a bad deal for LA.

I'm a defense-first guy, and Spivey's the younger player..so my vote went to London. Makes sense for LA though.

It may as well start up now because Im sure we all know it'll happen eventually. Now I just need to figure out how to sneak all these Russians into the American conference so we can fight in the playoffs.
