Ellis averaged .403 from 3PT range over his career in his 17 years in the NBA. His career high was .478 in the 1988-89 season when he was an all star and averaged 27.5PPG which was also a career high. Aswell as a three shooter Ellis jump shot was money also aswell as being a good free throw shooter. He was did a great job is limiting turnovers over the course of his career. WEAKNESSES: Dale was never really a lock down defender but at the same time wasn't the worst defender on the floor. At 6'7 Ellis never really did a great job on the boards averaging 3.5RPG for his career with his career high being 4.5RPG, he only averaged over 2.0APG twice he is career. ADDITIONAL NOTES: 1st player in NBA history to hit 1000 3pt shots. Earned the NBA Most Improved Player Award in 1986-87 when he averaged 24.9 points per game for the Seattle Supersonics. He ranks tied for eighth on the NBA's all-time list for 3-pointers made (1,719) and tied for 25th in career 3-point shooting percentage (.403).
