---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS: Mark Eaton did one thing better than anyone in the history of the NBA, and that was blocking shots. His 3.5 blocked shots per game is still the best per game average in league history, and he led the league in blocks 4 times in a five year span. He also was a solid rebounder, culminating in a 11.3 rpg season in 84-85, the first of two seasons he was named Defensive Player of the Year.
WEAKNESSES: For all of his defensive benefits, Mark Eaton was a offensive black hole who averaged only 6.0 points per game on 45.8% shooting from the center position. Not great for a 7'4" guy who could dunk by reaching up and standing on his tippy-toes...
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Eaton was a one-time All-Star who led the league in blocks on 4 occasions. He was a 2 time Defensive Player of the Year, made the All-NBA Defensive First Team 3 times and Second Team 2 times. He leads the NBA with the most games with double digit blocks with 19 in his career.
