www.sheridanhoops.com/2013/05/09/tweet-of-the-night-david-robinson-doesnt-put-curry-in-his-top-3-as-a-shooter/In my around 10 years of watching the NBA and being a die hard fan he is definitely the best that I have seen. I get the argument that he has not done it for long enough yet to be considered the best ever, but the % of the shots he hits and the degree of difficulty on most of them is amazing to me. I think we will continue to see him hitting 3 point shots for years to come and we will all accept him as the best shooter of all-time, I just hope that his ankle won't give him any more serious problems.

I shoot the lights out at the YMCA. I'm clearly a better shooter than Staph.

Holds record for most 3s in a season and a few other random ones (most 3s in first 5 playoff games, etc.).
Being the best shooter of all time is tough. Does he have to make the most 3s ever? Shoot the best percentage ever?
I would ask is Ray Allen the best shooter of all time or is Reggie Miller?
OR... is the best shooter a player like Kyle Korver who just shoots?

Kyle Korver fan right here! That is the hard part about this is differentiating between the types of shooters. For me I consider both shooting off of the dribble and spot up shooting when I think about the best shooters. I actually had a debate on twitter with a guy about how Curry is a better shooter than Novak because Novak is only a catch and shoot guy which is considerably "easier" than alot the majority of the shots that Steph creates for himself. With guys like Reggie and Steph they were able to create their own shots and shoot a very good % which makes them a much more versatile shooter than the spot up guys like Kerr, Korver, and Novak which in my opinion makes them "better" shooters. So I would not include those guys as the "greatest" because they are lacking in shooting off the dribble unlike Curry, Allen, and Miller who are my top three shooters.

Is the question is he the best shooter or is he the best 3 pt shooter? Cause those are two different things...and I'm not sold that he is either yet. If we are talking about 3 point shooter, I still like Allen and Reggie because they did it for an entire career, but Curry is certainly on track to overtake them if he keeps things up for another 10 years or so.

Just 3 point shooter for sure. I haven't put much thought into it but I am pretty sure my just best shooter list would be pretty different than best 3 point shooter.

No. He is amazing, but he is playing in an NBA where jacking up 3's is an offensive set at this point. If Reggie/Ray had the green light to shoot that much more they'd hold all shooting records. As much as I hate Ray Allen for bailing on being a bench guy in Boston to be a bench guy in Miami, I'd say he's the best

He shoots a Kerr-like percentage while creating his own shots, which is very un-Kerr like...I just think it is far too early in his career to say he's the best ever.

I don't want it to sound like Curry is "meh", but until he does it consistantly (and doesn't get hurt so often) I still view him behind a few guys.

As a Warriors fan im a massive Curry fan but yea its too early to say hes the best ever. If he can keep up what he has done this year in the coming years then maybe. He definately has the potential to do it.

Way to early to be talking best ever but holy shit Curry really been crushing it. He is so exciting to watch, he has disgusting handles, and he is a great shooter to go with it. Nothing like watching Curry use his handles to create a little space and just drop some gross 3s. I wasn't much of a Curry fan before but now he's one of my favorite players to watch because every game he impresses me at some point. He's actually made me a fan of GSW in general. I didn't pay much attention to them but they have a really solid team and a lot of fun (and good) players to watch.

If you're talking just three's it's gotta be Ray Allen.
Best pure shooter that I've ever seen play though had to be Larry Bird. Such a sweet stroke.

Bird, Allen, Reggie, and Peja probably have the nicest shots I've seen. Curry needs to do it for a longer period of time before he's crowned best ever.

I consider him the best of today. Ray Allen or probably Reggie Miller is up there all time. Curry should be once his career is over with.
