I like this for Seer. Those firsts aren't likely going to be lotto as long as Issel/Imhoff are together but those are both good drafts in terms of finding starter capable players late. I do love JPS though so that's why I put Toronto by a little because JPS is still pure potential so how he turns out will determine the real result of this deal in the long run.

PGs have been the riskiest position I've seen in terms of reaching potential. So many busts and players who just didn't improve like we thought. Fair value both ways but JPS scares me so a slight nod to Tor.

This is a great trade for both teams. If JPS pans out, NYK isn't too worried about those picks. I might be in the minority but JPS is a rare talent at PG, with his ability to defend the post. Combined with his size, he is a combo guard which can be quite useful in a rotation.

I told Seer when we made it that I liked it for him more than me. Not because the assets were great (I'm not worried about the picks and John Johnson isn't someone that was going to stick around, I couldn't even get a 2nd rounder for him) but because this was a 4 for 1 trade and I traded for a guy based on potential. I think the trade accomplishes something important for both teams, it gives Seer more picks/assets and it completes my starting lineup.
I was winning at a high clip last season without a starting 1 - 3 and with the conference being brutal. I think with me filling those spots out, I will be in a good position going forward.
JPS will do what I need him to do, pass the ball which is what he did when I had him before sending him out for Imhoff, he was near the top of the league in APG and I feel with a TC under his belt he'll be better there. Whatever points he gives me is a bonus.
In the end I just look at it as I gave up a handful of picks + and some role players for Imhoff because with JPS back that's basically what the situation was.
Again I think Seer won this trade, but I was willing to pay a little extra to not have to worry about my starting PG long term, now that I have my 22 Year Old PG back.

I'm in a similar situation, in terms of PG potential, with PLM. I made that trade based on potential, granted you didn't lose out on Alex English because of your deal...

Yeah I found that deal funny because Roark moved up for English. He jumped me but I wasn't taking English at 9 no matter what I was so concerned with Sikma that I forgot English was still on the board and thought there was no way English got to 8... My scout saw it though and I didn't listen
