So.. the coaches' salary don't tie into the budget without full finances on.
What we'll do to combat that is that we will add a 5 million dollar COACHES CAP to the existing HARD CAP and it would be done all on paper not in the game (so the game would still be set to 80).
You can spend 5 mil on your staff PLUS you can take money from your Hard Cap to buy staff but you can't give up Coach Cap to add to your Hard Cap. [
It will be whole millions, I am not tracking $78,462,424 as a Hard Cap number for someone - it's 80, 79, 78, 77, etc.]
Basically, Team X starts with..
80 Mil - HARD CAP 5 Mil - COACH CAP
Team X can have..
79 Mil - HARD CAP 6 Mil - COACH CAP
Team X cannot have..
81 Mil - HARD CAP 4 Mil - COACH CAP
You can take X mil from HARDCAP to supplement COACH CAP but not the other way around.
Each team will be given 1 Staff Amnesty only usable this off-season. If you decide to cut more than 1 staffer the 2nd one will count against your staff cap for the entirety of the contract.
The GM Salaries listed on your team page will NOT count. Just ignore them.

I don't want to hear about "my coach makes 9.99 million dollars".
Each team is dealt a certain hand and if you are lucky enough to have a great coach you should have no problem paying him. If you'd like to Amnesty him and sign another Coach you can.

We will have a FA session for Coaches.
Details coming tonight or tomorrow. Process this part for now.

Amnesty them in the Cut Player Section? Good question. Yes, but label them as something like "Brasil Staff Amnesty Coach Z" Just so I know it's not a player so I'm not in the wrong section of the file. You could also "London Staff Amnesties Auerbach/Cuts Phil Jackson" if you have more than 1 person to drop.

FYI, it's not possible to hire coaches under contract to other teams. ACs, Scouts, Headcoaches, nothing.
They need to be Free Agents coaches.

Does our GM salary factor into this or should we just ignore our own salary and just pay attention to coaches, assistants, and scouts?

I'll create a coach database either tonight or tomorrow. I will need the latest Save file to work with. You may or may not have it up already, but I'm at work and don't want to check at the moment. I will need to export the COACH Text Report (is that OK? we had a discussion about another text report for which you told me NOT to do anything with *pm if you need reminder*) - that should be no problem IMO - and it will allow you to see EVERY coaches attributes on one page. Sound good?

I like this added layer of depth to the game, however I don't think I'll be shelling out big bucks for a top tier coach till we know exactly how much of an impact they will have. Should be easier to tell after a season or two.

Bump...perhaps we should pin this, or add it to the rules page?

A coach, especially in a professional league, is usually supported by one or more assistant coaches and support staff. Employees may include coordinators, trainers and specialists in the field of weight training and fitness. In elite sport, the role of nutritionists, physiotherapists is ultimately crucial for the overall long-term success of a trainer and athlete.
