News today is that they'll be staying in Sacramento for at least one more season. Kind of crap all the way around. If you want to stay in Sac-Town sign a long term deal or build a new stadium. I personally was hoping they'd move to Seattle. I thought that was always a great crowd and they deserve it after the success OKC has had since leaving.
Does anybody live in CA care?

Only one year? This all again next year? Ugh.
I was hoping they'd move. Too bad for Seattle fans who lost out on a really good team with.

I really don't care either way, both are like most... only show up when good or NBA threatens to move team.

They were no longer getting televised games as often but outside of that window with CWebb/Vlade/Williams/etc nobody has cared in Sac-town. I don't think any team should run on a year to year agreement with a city/stadium. It isn't fair to anybody in that situation.

I think that I heard on ESPN that they are agreeing to keep the Kings in LA long term maybe I misheard not sure. Either way when a team isn't that good does it matter? I guess to die hard fans they will go out and watch them. I mean heck the Bobcats don't win many games but still have fans in the seats.

I want the Supersonics back in the NBA.
I know Kings fans don't want to lose their team. I am sure no fan does.
That being said I'd rather have a team in Seattle but if there could be a two team expansion (or whatever) that'd be fine too.
IF there was a 2-team expansion - what other city might be an option? I'm not sure Vegas is an option and since Seattle is a Western Conference location maybe they'd add something to the East? That or they'd realign and my Wolves will be in the East.

God no more expansion. I feel there are already at least 2-4 teams that could/should be logically shut down. There are just not enough talented players at this point. Contract 4 NBA teams, and maybe bring in a few more D-League teams to help develop talent.
Off the top of my head these teams could/should go:
Sacramento: You already have 3 other teams in the state and nobody has cared about the Kings for going on close to 10 seasons. Minor league talent, poor ownership, poor management.
Minnesota: Hear me out all you homers. Minnesota will always be a Football/Baseball/even Hockey market. Alot (Not all) of MN fans are fairweather and don't show up unless they are winning. Colin Cowherd once made the argument that no city should have more then 2 franchises without being Super Large Market.
Milwaukee: I don't feel I even need to explain this one. They haven't been relevant ever.
Toronto: Clearly NBA in Canada has not worked
New Orleans: Kill the Pelicans before it happens
Washington: As much as I loved me the Bullets, Washington is clearly Nations country now.
Kill these teams, revamp the salary structure to kill this "Super" team mentality and you'd have a whole league of contenders. More D-League teams could help to bring these young guys into the league better then they've been.

People don't go to see ATL play even when they are good. The Heat don't draw in South Beach. Shut them down first. Cowherd is a bonehead.

You could argue parity is not in the nature of elite level basketball.

Hell yes I care! Hah. I'm from Sacramento. We had some entertaining talented teams when the Magoofs actually cared about the team/had money. Now with the new ownership group, I think we'll see this team get back to playoff status eventually. The team has been plagued with poor owners with little money and a desire to not be in Sacramento the past 3-4 years, which led to less scouting, less money for free agents, less fan interest in supporting an ownership group not dedicated to the city.
This new ownership group/upcoming arena deal will revitalize Sacramento, not only from the NBA's standpoint but economically as well. Think LA Live and how that has revitalized downtown LA.

Cool man.
I'm glad you get to keep your squad!
I'd still like to see Seattle get a team. NOLA is locked in for a while I think. MJ is from Charlotte (so he'd hafta sell probably), so.. I dunno.. not sure where another relocation option is a reality.

Wolves have drawn well the last two seasons.
Having a watchable product helps but McHale sunk this team into such a hell hole financially and talent wise that it took 4-5 seasons to climb out.

I'd be all for giving Seattle a franchise...and I agree with the previous suggestion that Washington is a poor enough fan town that it should send the Wizards packing, but Ted Leonsis will never let it happen. The team actually has an owner that cares...he just doesn't know how to hire personnel guys, as Grunfield should have been gone a while ago.

I don't think you can take a team from the Nation's Capitol. I don't think that's right. You need one there (bad draw locally or not).
I'm honestly not sure how the Hawks are still in Atlanta. Those fans have proven they won't go to games whether the team is good or not.

Following everything that has been said over the last few days, one could jump to the conclusion that the league is strongly considering expanding to Seattle when it renegotiates its new tv deal. I think they're looking to go back especially with the strong ownership group and possibility of a new arena..maybe within the next few years.

The last thing the NBA needs is expansion...relocation is fine, but Dave is right, the league is already overextended talent-wise.

Any insight on if they are talking expansion or relocation? From the sounds if it, it's expansion if they go to Seattle. Not sure which teams would be available for sale/relocation. Milwaukee has been thrown out there, but I've read owner Herb Kohl wouldn't sell to someone who would move the team. Their mayor also took note of what has happened in Sacramento and begin discussions of building a new arena.
