I'll go with the league...cause Toronto is now terrible + Wilt = less terrible, but still not competing for crap. London, on the other hand, might have more assets, but he is no longer the presumptive #1 in all the land without the mighty Wilt in the middle. Unless we start playing 10 on 10 games, too much depth can be a bad thing. Though, it is only probably going to be another 5 hours before he turns Reed and Ferrari around into Russell or something of the sort...

I do like the fact that London isn't the same competitor without Wilt but he's still in great shape and has the youngest most athletic front court in the league.

I already miss Wilt but it was tough to pass on that much young talent.
I agree I lose out for this year but I am better longterm and I am not done trading.

Do I prefer Wilt to Hayes+Reed ?
Hell yeah.
Do I think it's a good trade for Toronto ?
Not that much.

Yeah similar sentiments here. Both teams got fair value, but theres no sense or strategy in this for Toronto, while John is already PMing some poor GMs offering Reed, for their prized stud guard rookie and 3 1sts down the line. And in a day/month/week he will have Hayes plus way way more assets. While Toronto doesnt have the pieces to add to Wilt, and hes probably gonna get traded again.

I voted for London by a bit but have the same opinion as the majority. I like it for London because he's getting the #1 overall pick and the #3 pick from the year before for the best player in the league, who's in his prime. I don't think its a terrible trade for Toronto but he needs to figure out the right approach after this move. If I was Toronto, I would try and find a way to clear cap space (get rid of ADM, which will be tough) and build around Wilt and Ivo and sign some good role players, especially since they won't be competing for a title this year. It might not be an ideal strategy since FA is a crapshoot, but if you could get a few above average players around Wilt and Ivo, they could be dangerous next season.

Dont understand it for Toronto b/c now you have wilt + no one.London has more assets to make more moves and aquire more studs to make another run with out giving up the farm, the farmer's wife, and the farmer's dog. I am a believer in bigs win titles but not if you have a big and a bunch of bench chairs to play 5 on 5 with.

Trading players right when they hit their prime and get to the point where they will soon demand a lot of money?
Total John move.
And that's why he wins.

And that's why he wins. ...except Wilt just signed a cap friendly deal (for someone of his talent) by taking less than the max when he clearly could have gotten much more on the open market. If anything, from a dollar standpoint, Wilt is the best contract in the league.

Contracts don't win championships. Just sayin. True...but mismanaging them will kill a team faster than injuries. Just sayin.

So are we ever going to put something into place to keep Toronto from continuously blowing up his team? Honestly the fact that he hasn't won one of the 3 titles is embarrassing when you look at all these stupid trades he makes :/ I understand boredom, but to year in and year out make moves the way he does makes me think he needs a GM to take care of all their roster moves.

Maybe you should get back in the ring and show him how it's done. Bunch of early strikes already..

This trade was baffling when I saw it. Also, I thought this was suppose to take London out of contention? They look good after sim 1 and haven't lost a step despite trying the best player in the league.

I didn't mean that Wilt's contract was bad.
Just trying to exploit John's strategy because I WANNA WIN TOO OKAY.
