Dave - I ran across 3-4 tins/lunchboxes of the Austin/Rock Raw Deal cards. It was like their first set. They were at Shirts Illustrated at the Mall. They wanted 15 bucks for em. I almost told Ken about them because he still has all his cards too. Maybe you guys could play over Skype? Send my regards.

Not sure if you heard but Kevin passed away. Im not sure if you really liked him much but he had some sort of cancer and didn't tell anyone and ended up passing away last winter. They ended up moving the Dugout to Sartell by blue line sportsbar and they run that place like shit too. I played softball with Kevin and know his sons pretty well. My understanding is that he didn't know he had cancer and he died 48-hours after he collapsed from it/found out about it at the ER. I was on my way to Colorado when it happened or else I would have gone to his funeral. We talked about making black KS patches for our softball team but that never materialized. He was a nice guy. He was a tough business man, but he was a nice guy. Oh I guess I misheard. I went to his wake and I seen your parents and peter there. It was a really sad day and I have to agree with you 100%. He was a great guy but very tough business man. He did well for himself and it sucks to see such a generally nice person go. He gave me my first job at 14 or 15 and I had a lot of fun there.

I was too good to play with him anyways If there was one guy from the old old Funco days I would be happy to never think about again, it'd be him

I might have heard wrong but the story was something like he felt ill/woozy while golfing, went home, went back out the next day to golf, passed out, was taken to the hospital, couldn't talk anymore (I think), was told he had cancer, died 48-hours later. It was all super sudden. I was passing a lot of the info back and forth between guys on the team. He had retired from playing with us 2-3 years earlier but most of us still knew him obviously. He'd come down and have a drink with us still after games from time-to-time.

That sucks about Kevin, I wasn't aware. I saw that the shop wasn't there the last time I drove thru Saint Cloud but just figured they'd closed. As far as the St. Cloud group goes, does Justin still play then or mostly just the guys you listed? The shop thing here sucks hard, and if I had an extra 10-14 grand I'd consider just opening one. There were a TON of people for all the prereleases here but everybody said they don't like the shop but it's the only option. Plus rent out here is crazy high for real estate thanks to all the oil bullcrap out in Williston, ND. I think maybe once they make more things able to target planeswalkers I could stand them more, but early on once they hit the table all you could do was hope to have dudes to throw at it before it blew up your face. Man I miss card games. Still have all my Raw Deal and makes me so sad that I've got nobody to play with anymore I worked with James Beltz at Pizza Hut for 2 years and hes still hard into it. He plays a ton on magic online and apparently he is making good money off of it. As for the rest of the guys I seen most of them but I think Justin quit somewhat recently. He comes into my new work and gets food almost every week and Im pretty sure he only cubes. Im not the best judge because Ive only showed up a few times randomly in the last 2 years so I dont have a great idea. Mike Moline though, Im not sure what happened to him, I havent seen him in forever so Im not sure what hes up to. James was talking about possibly opening up a real card shop here in St. Cloud but who knows if that will come to fruition. That sucks about real estate up there, Im always hearing about the Oil over there and how you can make like 20gs in a few months or some crap but its 16 hour days 6-7 days a week or something. Everything gets more expensive because they make such good money. I still got all my Raw Deal as well.. Nothing like a Womens Belt signed by... I dont remeber her name and she was never the champ or in the card game hahahaha. Brasil- I dont live around those parts but Ive been to Vegas 5 times or so and it is a damn blast! Dont buy any drinks, just gamble and drinks are free (Im not used to that in MN). There are a ton of things to check out so do some research.

Oh, I am going with someone who has probably been more than rest of people in here combined. Scary thought. I certainly play and drink (I won't be buying a drink)... sadly I will be busy most of the time at the clinic (actually like hearing people speak).
Anyone here actually coach or is involved with basketball?

Hey if you are able to, go to Planet Hollywood. They got some hot women in very little clothes dancing by the blackjack tables which is always awesome but then they also have The Earl of Sandwiches and no joke one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had. It could have been the slight buzz and my hunger level but holy shit it was unreal. They were warmed sandwiches or something but I was blown away

Seems Legit. I'll need to make a list somewhere in my phone (bound to be the only thing besides wallet I have with me)... Somewhere I can find it when inebriated. Lol

Hell yeah haha and if thats too much work remember In and Out Burger... I got one of those too and despite the bathroom looking like a common place for murder, they had amazing burgers too. You can get it with an egg on it. I opted for that and again I was buzzed but it was great as well.

I coached bball for ten years, also coach football and track. Play bball and workout still a fair amount. Have three little ones so that's much of my time. I am in education, have a masters in administration but happy teaching ATM. Like most card games, have a ps3 but never any time to play.
Got to see one of my old players play against USC and ucla this year, that was pretty sweet.

I run Cross Country and track as well as soccer for my high school. I play basketball during the summer for a travel team. That is pretty much all I do other than the occasional game of laser tag as well. lol

Programming...programming...programming. Watching TV shows. Cardio workouts. Tennis...tennis...tennis!
This year, I may call it quits with basketball (15 years of play). I've fallen for tennis and basketball is so boring compared to it. Plus, it's gotten to the point where it's very frustrating. As the PG (my friends are shorter/lighter than me - my brother taller), it's no fun when all driving lanes are closed off because guys step back ~10 feet from the 3pt line and I can't make them pay. Certainly have no plans to practice shooting considering I'm not on a team...

I own a restaurant, so i work too much. lol
When i dont work, i play video games, PS3 mainly. I have a Wii U as well. I watch a lot of movies. I am a serious weight lifter, and i do a little cardio. I love to travel but havent had the time these past few years. I collect autographs, fun to own them and are good investment. I love listening to music on my free time also. Lots of Metal and Electronic/Techno (and a good share of its sub genres).
I live in Arizona so during the summer i try to not go outside at all. LOL The sun just beats the living crap out of you and there is barely any shade, constant 110 degrees and at night its 90 degrees.

I currently own a PS2 (which, for the record, is the most advanced I ever got in video game systems) that I received by trading John all of my Raw Deal cards. I also got a sweet copy of FIFA 04. I'm 34. My hobbies are all over the place. I tried photography, and still enjoy it but I don't put a lot of time into it. Most of my pictures are hidden for non-friends (because they're kid pictures) but you can still see some of them at my neglected photo blog, Much More Sure: www.muchmoresure.com. (I put the link there knowing that a lot of the pictures don't work right now. They will again, soon.) I write, but not as much as I used to. I write about work at: Eating Elephant ( www.eatingelephant.com) and I write about life at Black Marks on Wood Pulp ( www.blackmarks.net). I also write about beer, which is ridiculous because who the hell writes about beer? ( beerivebeendrinking.tumblr.com). I speak at a lot of conferences and industry meetups - going to one tonight in Fargo, actually - and so I get to travel. Not a lot, but a four or five times a year. Mostly, though, I hang out with my 3- and 5-year-old and my wife. Thug life or something, AMIRITE.

I've grown up a bit since I was last in ABCA, but not much in the grand scheme of things. I just turned 23 earlier this month, and have about a year of college left to get my degree. It's looking increasingly unlikely ill finish up though, which is a bummer considering the time and money I've spent so far.
I'm currently transitioning into a full time career as music producer and traveling DJ. Both have been long time passions of mine, but are just now becoming possibly financially lucrative. That's a big possibly, as there is very little job security at all. If you're hot at the time then there's more work than you can take on buy I've seen it dry up real fast for a lot of people. Also there's no benefits, health insurance, as you're a glorified free lancer. That being said I love what I do and I am excited to give this a real try. I'll post some songs when I get the chance.
Other than that I spend way too much time on the Internet, and watch an obscene amount of tv. I'm embarrassed to actually post in that tv thread. Also a big time comic fan, but have gotten out of the collecting game. Living in Atlanta with my grandparents right now but planning to move to LA after this summer when we'll be on tour.

I had no idea there was this huge subgenre of beer writers, but with the recent explosion of craft beer and the different styles represented even on a basic grocery store shelf, it's become a much more interesting topic than wine or food. What site do you write on? Did I miss that?
