Guy was a fan favorite and a was a good scorer but where does he fit in amongst NBA greats?
Was he better than Adrian Dantley?
Is Tracy inline for some HoF consideration?
Where do you guys weight in?

I want him in the Hall Of Fame. 7 All-NBA Teams. So many memorable moments. When healthy, one of the best in the league. A stretch of his career he put up numbers than only elite players even come close to. Not 1st ballot due to Post-Season and injuries but he HAS to get in.

He absolutely dominated for years, one of the best players in the league, I think he deserves it

I honestly wouldn't vote for him to get in. He was never a guy who could lead his team out of the first round of the playoffs, let alone to a title. He was never MVP, only 1 time All-NBA first team...other than the All-Star games, he was basically just a big time scorer who couldn't win when it counted. That doesn't get you in the HOF if I'm voting.

I'm not sure I agree.
He was a monster dunker but he was injured all the time. I think he might have been more hype than game but I didn't watch McGrady play that much.
Perhaps someone else could shed some light.

Brasil said it right. Not first ballot but I think he will get in eventually. He's better than some of the players in the HoF so I'd say he makes it. Same goes for A.I.

I'm not sure he's better than Bernard King or Adrian Dantley. It took Dantley 17 years to get into the Hall and King still isn't in there. I dunno, TMAC in the Hall is like VC in the hall. Not sure I buy either as much more than elite athletes. But again, I could be wrong. I didn't watch a lot of either.

While you can make arguments that for a four or five year span he was one of the best in the game, he has no college, playoff or Olympic accolades to hang his hat on, which usually helps with HoF voters. I don't think he should get in, but even if I did I don't think the voters will put him in.

To me, if I say a name and I hesitate to say for sure if he's a HOFer or not, then he's shouldn't get in.
TMac definitely falls into that category.

I mean.. had he been healthier I might have a different position on it.
But I also don't see Grant Hill as a Hall of Famer.
Hill could have been but he just missed too many games.

Hill might get in because of college Hill was a 2 time NCAA champion, an Olympic gold medal winner, the NBA rookie of the year and a 3 time NBA Sportsman of the year. Separately those might all seem like little things, but when you add them to the same 7 NBA All Star selections that McGrady had, and he suddenly looks like a much stronger candidate than TMac does.

Tmac was always the first option on bad teams so he has inflated stats. He was good, but not Hall of Famer good. Maybe years down the road, but I don't see alot of guys that came out during the Tmac years deserving. It's the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Very Good...

Hey, if Reggie Miller can make the Hall of Fame, anyone can. This coming from a Reggie Miller fan. But Miller took his team to the Conference Finals. I think TMac never made it out of Round 1.

We won 2 games, motherfucker, and one of those was because our hotel staff poisoned Kobe. Reggie Miller is a Hall of Famer. Deal with it. He's the greatest Pacer, ever.
