To explain my comment about "too stupid to be true" let me first explain how stupid I am personally... After reading SkySports all day checking up on transfer news for the EPL and several articles on the GARETH BALE transfer saga, I then came to this site, saw John's post and said "no way Gareth Bale could play Batman" without even registering the fact that the best Batman ever also shares the last name Bale... except his first name is Christian.... So there you have it. I thought it may entertain some of you as to how stupid that actually is lmao Lmao, this makes me happy.

Another rumor circulating has Brian Cranston possibly playing Lex Luthor. I just hope he turns out to be a well-intentioned guy trying to bring justice to that mass murderer protagonist from that Man of Steel movie. That's the kind of Lex I can support! I agree wholeheartedly...the world needs a Luthor who can put an end to a protagonist who will hold his battles in the middle of populated areas and then executes his fallen captive without trial. The world doesn't need vigilantes, it needs heroes...

Completely worth it. I've watched every Batman movie to date and none of them have ever fit the role more perfectly than Christian Bale. In fact, his acting skills impressed me so much I stepped outside my realm and watched movies I otherwise wouldn't have given a chance (4:10 to Yuma, The Machinist, etc). I really hope he realizes just how amazing he is as Batman and recognizes that sure, this may lead to typecasting, but it will lead to a legacy almost unheard of, where one man completely overshadows all previous actors playing that character. A top 5 actor of all-time IMO. Funnily enough, one guy I'd rate ahead of him plays a pretty big role in the Batman series himself. Christian Bale, top 5 actor of all time??? I liked the dude a lot in Batman and Public Enemies, but let's not get crazy here

Heard it was bumped to 60 million. Sounds like he's not interested though.. 1. I can't see them paying him 60 million...it would be an absurd amount and set a precedent for up-front cash I don't think they'd want to do. 2. I don't think he can be lured back at this point. He seems gung ho about moving on from the Batman character.

I didn't see the 60 mil report but a friend of mine who is plugged in told me. I trust him, but you guys don't need to trust my 2nd info. Personally, I couldn't care less. He wears a mask for most of the time, almost anyone with brown hair can play Batman.

That's what I thought until I saw Dark Knight Rises, which had maybe 15 minutes of Batman and 3.5 hours of Bruce Wayne. PUT ON THE DAMN MASK! Was I really the only person who thought that movie was the most mediocre of the trilogy?

The Dark Knight was the best and it wasn't close in my opinion.
Rises was only okay but people lap up anything Nolan makes after they all saw Inception.
He's an incredible filmmaker but he's getting a lot of hop-ons and most of those people don't know what a good film looks like.

A good film looks like something a person enjoys watching. Film, like music, writing, television and beer, are defined by each person according to their personal taste.

It's why I might have a list of my ten favorite movies/CDs compared to my list of the 10 best. Preference and opinion aren't the same as judgments of quality.

While what people enjoy is subjective... What makes a good film (or song/album) is based more so on its contents. You can't defend anything Robecca Black did as being on the same level as The White Album. Definite difference in quality.

Ben Affleck and Batman just doesn't go together. Horrible. Agreed. Not a fan. But the fanboys who can get around the other errors in this DC universe can probably forgive this too. He'll probably bring in some casual movie-goers.

Have fun with Affleck, kids. Better than "not even top 20 actor" Bale, I guess. He does, after all, have an Oscar.
