Well... It wouldn't be Batman if it wasn't Bale. He's done an amazing job.

Completely worth it. I've watched every Batman movie to date and none of them have ever fit the role more perfectly than Christian Bale. In fact, his acting skills impressed me so much I stepped outside my realm and watched movies I otherwise wouldn't have given a chance (4:10 to Yuma, The Machinist, etc). I really hope he realizes just how amazing he is as Batman and recognizes that sure, this may lead to typecasting, but it will lead to a legacy almost unheard of, where one man completely overshadows all previous actors playing that character. A top 5 actor of all-time IMO. Funnily enough, one guy I'd rate ahead of him plays a pretty big role in the Batman series himself.

I doubt Bale would ever be typecast just as Batman, he is too good. 50 million doesn't seem high to me.

To explain my comment about "too stupid to be true" let me first explain how stupid I am personally...
After reading SkySports all day checking up on transfer news for the EPL and several articles on the GARETH BALE transfer saga, I then came to this site, saw John's post and said "no way Gareth Bale could play Batman" without even registering the fact that the best Batman ever also shares the last name Bale... except his first name is Christian....
So there you have it. I thought it may entertain some of you as to how stupid that actually is lmao

Christian Bale isn't one of the top 5 actors working today, let alone all-time. Bale is really good at playing Batman (though some would argue that Keaton was as good, though less serious), but that hardly makes him a top-tier actor. Maybe top 20 that had a movie come out this year... And FYI - The movie is 3:10 to Yuma...in your version Christian Bale and Russell Crowe (the actor who actually carries the film) miss the train by a full hour. Also, the 1957 version of the film is better.

Looks awesome though, huge cast with Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawerance, Jeremy Renner and a few others I can't think of right now

Throw in De Niro (who admittedly is past his prime but is still working today), and you have 5 better actors/actresses talentwise in THIS FILM ALONE.

Sounds like I might have a chance to see AMERICAN HUSTLE in a 2 weeks. If so, I'm totally doing it. I've been hearing about that film for months.
Bale was a good Batman and his appearance is probably worth more than 50 mil to the movie so it makes sense so I can see it happening.

It is the same reason I wouldn't be surprised to see Marvel back up a Brinks truck to try to get Robert Downey Jr. to do an Iron Man 4 even though it seems like he wants no part of it (he agreed to do Avengers 2 and 3 but no more solo movies).

Wow, I didn't know Downey turned down future IM movies. Too bad, there is no better casting for Tony Stark.

Wow, I didn't know Downey turned down future IM movies. Too bad, there is no better casting for Tony Stark. If you think about it, after Avengers 3 he'll have played Stark in 7 films (3 Iron Man, 3 Avengers and a cameo in Hulk)...that will have tied him with Hugh Jackman for most times playing the same comic character (assuming Jackman holds firm to his claim and doesn't make another film as Wolverine after next year's X-Men: Days of Future Past). Downey Jr. probably wants to move on to other projects, and he knows he is a bankable name, especially after he carried the two disappointing Sherlock Holmes films. One name I heard for Stark in an Iron Man 4...Mark Wahlberg. I shudder...

Another rumor circulating has Brian Cranston possibly playing Lex Luthor.
I just hope he turns out to be a well-intentioned guy trying to bring justice to that mass murderer protagonist from that Man of Steel movie.
That's the kind of Lex I can support!
