Might be good to clarify for the new guys that the 68 is not the overall hard cap, but just the hard cap for this expansion draft.

Might be good to clarify for the new guys that the 68 is not the overall hard cap, but just the hard cap for this expansion draft. There is a thread about it that was recently created on the General Board. But thanks because there was some confusion about this it seems. Expansion Teams have a cap hold for two years
Year One: 12 Million (Making their HC 68 million) Year Two: 6 Million (Making their HC 74 million) Wait, really? Did we do this for harlem and bcz? that's a huge disadvantage for a team trying to win. I have no idea how Bayi gets 12 players now.

We did NOT do this for the previous GMs because we didn't know about it.
This time we did and with 4 it made sense to leave the cap hit because teams were only taking 6 players (not 12).

I'm completely ok with it, it makes sense. Just kinda wish i would've know prior, but it's doable

Deleted and combined all my post into one because I realized the thread was getting cluttered. I'll try and limit the post in this thread to actual expansion picks (like the last time we had this thread) so things don't get mixed up.
Bayi can still get to 12 players. He just can't pick guys like Bill Russell obviously. 22 Million to get 7 guys is hard but it's not impossible (slightly above 3 million per player the rest of the way).
I'm completely ok with it, it makes sense. Just kinda wish i would've know prior, but it's doable Hopefully it doesn't mess up your plans but I did inform you about expansion teams having a cap hold when you asked about the HC a few days ago. It probably should've been posted somewhere and explained clearer but:
For example if I hit the 60 mil cap can I go past that but below the hard cap limit? Ah I misunderstood your question, you can go over the normal salary cap but you can't go over the hard cap (which will be different for expansion teams vs. the other 28 teams due to cap holds) That wasn't before your Chicago trade but I believe it was before the other two.
Again apology on my end for not making it clearer but expansion is something that we are all learning together since it doesn't happen every off-season. Blame can be directed at me though (and not the rest of the committee) because I've been handling all expansion related stuff for the most part.

I'm just going to throw this out there because I've already gotten one draft list.
If you guys want to send me and London a list of the players in the order you'd draft them (you can include extra instructions like not to pick two SGs back to back) then that may help the draft move quicker for you all.
This isn't a requirement but just something I thought i'd throw out there.
