I think everyone can agree to a degree that expansion teams are easy wins for at least 2 seasons. That's all I meant by punching bags. BCZ was in the playoffs in season 2...sure, most teams choose to build slower, but it's no guarantee. And like Sydney said, some teams have been punching bags for longer with less of an excuse...

A point I wanted to add for the naysayers was the work that will be added for the Commissioner London.
Lets face it, there will always be new GMs that may not buy the game or may not understand exactly how things work with FBB and that means more manual work for our good friend London. This will mean more delays with sims and signings etc. and more headache for the Commiss as well. Unless if London will start delegating duties to others, this will increase his workload.

In all seriousness though, I was originally strongly no. I still do lean no. BUT if we have four strong GMs, id prefer to avoid the newbies I can be swayed. It seems as if we have 2, Derek and Xeneise, that we could probably get to commit to this situation. Xeneise said hed take an expansion team and Derek prefers a challenge. That would be a good start. I would rather avoid putting new GMs in disaster situations though. New GMs are more impatient, unless were comparing them to Seer or GP, and more willing to burn the teams future down for a chance to win quickly. If we have GMs with a track record, i would feel a lot more comfortable because theyd either build slowly or id at least be more confident in them making current moves.

I support this as long as Phil Jackson joins the bulls division and Derek joins London's division. Otherwise I don't see enough PPV buys

Just a thought I wanted to voice... Is is possible people do not write many articles anymore because it can take 4 decent length articles to even do a minor upgrade? Just an idea I had but I know that has discouraged me to write articles but I suppose we do not want GMs to upgrade players so easily (which I agree with).

That's fine it was purely speculation on my part. If that's the case then we should probably look at what it takes to get a team then... We had 3 GM's apply over the course of last season with at least 5-15 posts each and some solid experience. I'd say hiring someone too quickly having them possibly strikeout still makes more sense than leaving a team vacant for so long.. We could be missing out on solid GM talent by not giving people a chance - but that's another issue altogether. I think the way we currently fill spots is a mess. We have had multiple GMs show interest in the league before...our response is always "show us more"...they will post for a while, maybe even do an article...and we say "show us more"...and then they move on and we pat ourselves on the back and talk about how they didn't stick it out. Who wants to stick around a league like that? Where there is an open spot that you'd rather leave vacant for a season than give someone new a shot at?

Belgrade holds no position on this matter. We will support the Committee's decision.

Perth Wildcats need to be represented in ABCA and I need to be the GM. The Sydney Kings are the joke of Australian basketball meanwhile the Wildcats are tge most successful. Make it happen.... Please

Well to be fair that was a rough year for the league. Both conferences had sub .500 playoff teams that year.

I'd vote yes because I'm one of those said lurkers and would love an expansion team, but obviously this is up to the league.
And for those concerned about new blood being taken advantage of, I ain't mediocre. Pretty much bought FBB to familiarize myself with it for when there would be an opening.... and because DDSPB is crap

Fwiw, I'm sure everyone can tell I still check this a couple times a week. I do read the big topics that occur and would be open to a return as expansion or random opening if the league, and JScott, would have me back. There have been very valid points on both sides but I always have felt as long as there are the GMs to expand, why not do it? 40 was always the goal. I'll continue reading and enjoying the league either way.
