It's unreal... Just like the Donte Stallworth situation. 30 days in jail for hit and run murder? Stallworth did not hit and run, and the man he hit and killed was crossing a busy freeway while it was dark outside. I think the punishment he got was fine.

Stallworth was drunk, high on marijuana and speeding when he hit the guy...he spent 24 days in jail after the guy's family stated they "just wanted to get past it"...mind you Stallworth had already come to a financial arrangement for the civil trial. If you think that Stallworth got what he deserved, got what he would have gotten if he wasn't an NFL player, or got what he would have if he hadn't already paid a hefty settlement and had the victim's family supporting his plea, you have another thing coming.

Still no matter what it is sad that athletes do these crazy things. But if you make the bed you have to lie in it.

I don't understand why ESPN always talks about the bad things in sports. Why don't they talk about the players who go do public events for children and visit dying patients in hospitals?

Well I guess that I should have said that London but I was just focusing on athletes since it dealt with an athlete in this thread.

I don't understand why ESPN always talks about the bad things in sports. Why don't they talk about the players who go do public events for children and visit dying patients in hospitals? The same reason 90% of their reporting is focused on a few select teams (Yankees, Red Sox, Heat, Cowboys, etc) whether they are winning or not...their #1 goal is ratings, and salacious stories of athletes committing crimes draw much bigger numbers than athletes doing charity work.

Well, they do. On days when people aren't killing people, getting popped for PEDs, etc. Turn on ESPN on a slow news day and you'll see stories of Matt Trout giving his uniform to a Make-A-Wish kid, or you'll see Tony Stewart show up in a cancer ward. It's there. You just don't care to watch it.

I know that they like to focus on stories for ever at times, but they do get some reporting right.

There reporting is some of the stuff I find the most offensive. They're so lazy at ESPN.
I don't trust anything I hear there. The trades and scenarios they come up with are so slanted and off-balance.

Well they do have some definitely one sided stories and reporting.
