Did anyone ever read the reports that you would be able to watch these episodes in any order? Hurwitz said that he ended up not being able to make this work in the end, but I think the remnants of this attempt kind of hurt the flow of things. I've started to enjoy it more by thinking of this not as Season 4 but as a prequel to the movie (kind of what John said.) To me its not really a natural progression from the first 3 seasons. I always considered it a progression to a movie, but with no guarantee that is ever coming and so many open ended issues with little to no payoff, I still find the venture to be a big disappointment. Is it so bad I'll never watch them again? Of course not, I've already watched them 3 times from start to finish. But will I come back to this season like I do the first 3? Not a chance...

Netflix CEO today said its a "metter of when" for Season 5 of Arrested Development.
I'll give it a chance but I will go in with virtually no expectations of it being good.
Community season 6 on Hulu is more excite-Dean to be honest.

Is it crazy I enjoyed season 4? Granted anytime I get to see Will Arnett do anything I enjoy it

I knew there had to be a thread of this on the boards. Had an acting workshop where we used scenes from the show for comedy it was hilarious. That made me binge watch all the episodes to see if it held up to what I remembered. It was funnier this time around 10 years makes a difference. The fourth season was why I posted. It baffled me I think I am 9 in. The pacing is a lot slower and it's strange having an ensemble show be focused on 1 character. I like Tobias but he shouldn't be the sole focus of an episode. Scheduling was probably an issue hence the change. It is so different. I don't mind this one and can accept it for what it is.

Perhaps it's out there but I am unaware of it.

I'm excited for the re-cut of season 4, and I just rewatched the series again and enjoyed it (S4) more then I did the first time. It's nowhere near the first 3 but it was better the second time. My complaints for S4, other then the single character episodes was too little of GOB, and anything Michael Cera. Didn't care for the arc his character took in S4. Maybe I was just expecting too much and it didn't live up. S5 won't be that way for me. NO EXPECTATIONS

Maybe I am the only one but that sounds like a bad idea. Sure Season 4 was disappointing but anytime you try to recreate something 10 years later it is likely to be inferior. I think there is something to Season 4, especially in its current format. I will be curious though to compare the edited episodes.
The other show I was rewatching was Heroes. It really didn't hold up to my original opinion when I watched it. A lot harder to watch now. I knew Ali Larter was bad, but I forgot how bad. Maybe worse then I remember.

Here's the dirty little secret about Heroes...it was always bad. The second through fourth seasons are progressively worse levels of terrible, and the first season, which had so much promise, had a really bad finale that kind of ruined that whole season of buildup too. I mean you build up a whole season of Peter vs Sylar, bill it as MegaPowers explode, then you put out that final episode? Series never recovered in my eyes...

I only started watching the later half of the first season, the second, and third season. Its so bad looking back. It was all style over substance. The pace was slow. The actors all seemed to be cast on look rather than their acting ability. The dialogue was bad.

What's sad is while that is true of main cast, they actually had some surprisingly good character actors in the supporting cast. David Anders in season 3 and Robert Knepper from season 4 both come to mind as people who were way too good for the material they were given...but that was true for most of the cast. The writing was bad even by television standards, and the fact that the show got renewed for 4 seasons likely had more to do with the cast (Quinto had just done Star Trek and Panitterie was still a big deal back then) than with the ratings.

Man Heroes was great in season 1, and I agree that the ending blew. I thought I read somewhere that they had what they wanted to do and NBC? or whomever was in charge of decisions cut the fuck out of their budget or that they severely overspent before the finale and that's what they had to work with and the show never fully recovered. I think they could have built back up to a true Sylar/Peter battle but the nerfing and wrecking Peters character all of season 2 sucked.

Kinda disappointed no one posted the news of 17 new AD episodes that were confirmed last week.
I'm not expecting the world but I'm sure I will give them a chance.
Maybe season 5 will erase season 4 like they did with Community.
