GM PREFERRED SKILLS
-Inside Scoring -Jumpshot -3PT Shooting -Handling -Passing -O.Reb -Post Def -Per Def -Stealing -Blocking -D.Reb
Each GM gets to pick three skills that they deem important to their team.
How exactly does it fit into the game? I'm not 100% sure but I bet if you want to play Nellie (or Nelly) ball you can do so. Perhaps you believe that defense win championships like the late-90's Pistons? You can do that too.
Most of us will probably play somewhere in between but this will certainly set the game a part from FBB. Some players may have much more value to certain teams so trying to figure that out might help your draft strategy too.

I think it is a very interesting feature...allows you to either shape your strategy around your players or base your players around your strategy.

Passing D Reb Stealing
1) Don't turn it over. 2) Don't give up 2nd chances. 3) Force TO's.
Make sure we attempt more shots baby!

Good!
I wanted you to all look this over and start brainstorming because this is one of the first things I will need to enter into FBPB3 to give you a team.
What you list here will NOT be set in stone - talk it over, compared notes, etc.
There will be a time in the future however though that you will need to make a decision on your 3 skills and you'll hafta let me know.
Until then I am playing with Jump Shot, Pine Riding, and Fisticuffsmanship.

Inside Scoring, Passing, and Defensive Rebounding. All things lacking in todays NBA.
But seriously not those three for me.

It's funny - I thought everyone would be hovering around the same types but people are all over the place. That's cool.

Passing, inside scoring, defensive rebounding.
Set up easy buckets and control the glass.

Drive Defense, Drive Defense, and Drive Defense. Yeah. Where's drive defense on that list? Replaced with post defense?

I'm asking if Drive Defense is in the game and how. We'll have an answer.

Drive Defense, Drive Defense, and Drive Defense. Yeah. Where's drive defense on that list? Replaced with post defense? Here is your answer: " It is location specific so closer to the basket it is going to be post defense and outside it will be perimeter defense with quickness factoring in pretty heavily too." So I think he is also referring to how it will be assessed on a player-by-player basis too.

John, curious to know how you plan on handling injuries in the sim. In my brief time messing around with it injuries were everywhere and it makes you have to back out and edit the roster to even continue. That sounds like a TON of work on your end. Is there an easier method that I haven't found yet? Also, how will player ratings show up when uploaded to a server? Does it upload with a letter grade or just numbers?

I dunno about the demo but HR turned down the injuries.
Though after watching the NBA this year maybe the injuries weren't too high after all.

I dunno about the demo but HR turned down the injuries. Though after watching the NBA this year maybe the injuries weren't too high after all. I'm glad to here, cause I have had the same experience with the demo...I literally am having to reset my depth chart every 6 days or so because of injuries, and that is just for one team. I can't imagine the debacle of any entire league's worth of injuries slowing down each sim at the rate the demo was set at...

Oh, and I'm thinking jumpshooting, handling and defensive rebounding at the moment for the original topic...

If I can turn them down I probably will.
