I watched Card Sharks every day after I got home from school. Then I'd watch MTV's Remote Control.
Don't knock Empty Nest. Not every show can be a spinoff of Golden Girls, one of the greatest and most sarcastic sitcoms of all time.
I'm being completely serious here, too - if Golden Girls was remade today as a single-camera show on HBO, we'd all own the first three seasons and we'd be quoting lines. Take away the laugh track and add a few swear words, and it would still totally hold up.

Nice to see interesting/varying roles for older women too.

Nope. Never could keep up once Charlie "died" Ugh, you know that much of the storyline? I can't believe people watch that garbage. Or Big Bang Theory. What shit writing. Both shows.

I watch re-runs of Big Bang Theory (well, they are background noise for when I am on my Laptop or iPad).

I can't watch more than 15 seconds that show without changing the channel.
It's like Family Guy. Ugh.

Big Bang Theory is weird to me. They will have one decent episode and then follow it up with 2-3 bad ones. Too many characters being juggled at a time without a real reason for them to be intertwined. I hate the Sheldon character, it makes it almost unwatchable for me. I do enjoy all the old Roseanne cast popping up. WILL WHEATON!!!!!!
I liked Family Guy the first 2-3 seasons but ever since has been god awful bad.
I used to catch Two and a Half men in the early seasons due to actually enjoying Charlie Sheen. However they never did anything to evolve anybody in that show. They made his brother more pathetic every season until it was no longer funny and you just hoped he'd die off. I don't mind Sheens new FX show Anger Management.

I pretty much can't watch a show with a laugh track anymore. When the writing is predicated on leaving gaps for fake laughs, I can't take your jokey jokes that seriously.
The only one I watch with regularity is old episodes of Sports Night, and those laugh tracks are there because the network didn't think viewers were ready for a comedy without audio clues. As the first season goes on, you can hear the laugh track get quieter and quieter and less frequent.
Also: It's Sorkin. So duh.

I'm with you on Sportsnight. We have the entire series on DVD.
I pop in shows like 3rd Rock from the Sun and (duh) NewsRadio which is absolutely genius. I love them both and while they are remembered well by their fans I don't think they got the initial recognition they should have.

Haven't seen it in a while. Need to pick it up on DVD.

The main reason I watched 'Brick' for the first time was because I saw that JGL was in it and I only knew him from 3rd Rock at the time. John Lithgow was absolutely hilarious... hell, the whole cast was perfect. I don't know how more people haven't seen Newsradio. Anytime I bring it up as one of the funniest TV shows I've ever seen, people look at me like I have 6 heads, even after I tell them the more popular cast members (Hartman, Rogan, Dick, etc.). Amazing show. The episode after Phil Hartman died in real life is still tough to watch though.

Thanks for bringing up Sports Night. I totally forgot that I did not own it and will be visiting Amazon shortly to fix that. I've almost bought it so many times and just haven't pulled the trigger. Love that show!

Absolutely one of my favorite character actors. Him and Goodman. Yes, John Goodman.

Big Bang Theory is absolutely terrible. I die a little inside every time I hear someone say they like it.
Always Sunny is one of my favorites and Danny DeVito was the greatest addition to the show ever. Every character in the show is classic and they all have equally ridiculous personalities that work so well together. Even the smaller casting parts are awesome like the Rickety Cricket, the Waitress, and the McPoyles.
Kroll Show cracks me up to no end. He just makes the most ridiculous version of main stream shows and they are so damn funny.
Key and Peele are always good (Its no Chappelle show but it is still solid)
Iron Chef, Bizzare Foods, and anything with Anthony Bordain is awesome.
Other then that its sports and interesting documentaries or shows like How the Universe Works, Life, Blue Planet, ect, ect..
